We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic Assistant General Manager to join our leadership team. This pivotal role serves as the hotel’s second in command, ensuring the seamless day-to-day operation of our property. The Assistant General Manager will work closely with various department heads to direct and implement policies and procedures across all hotel departments. This role demands a professional who excels in multitasking, problem-solving, and interpersonal communication. As a representative of the hotel's leadership, the Assistant General Manager is frequently engaged with guests, resolving inquiries and complaints efficiently and graciously. Additionally, the Assistant General Manager supports the General Manager with administrative duties and management responsibilities, stepping in as acting General Manager when necessary. This position requires someone who is not only experienced and detail-oriented but also passionate about fostering a collaborative team environment and delivering outstanding service excellence.

The successful candidate will be involved in interviewing and hiring new employees, ensuring the team is staffed with motivated and capable individuals. They will monitor department heads' performance, verifying adherence to hotel policies and operational standards. The Assistant General Manager plays an integral role in establishing and enforcing guidelines that uphold the hotel’s quality and service standards. Flexibility and adaptability are crucial, as this role requires the individual to work varying schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays, while remaining physically active and present throughout the hotel.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in hotel management or related field
  • minimum 4 years of management experience in the hotel industry
  • ability to fluently speak, read and understand English
  • familiarity with OSHA regulations
  • knowledge of local Department of Health regulations
  • understanding of laws governing hazardous substances
  • willingness to work varying schedules including nights, weekends and holidays
  • physical ability to stand, walk, carry or lift up to 25 pounds, bend, twist and climb stairs
  • strong team player mentality

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in hotel management or related field
  • minimum 4 years of management experience in the hotel industry

Job Duties

  • Interview and hire new employees
  • receives and resolves guest complaints

  • support the General Manager in establishing and monitoring policies and guidelines in the day-to-day operation of the hotel
  • steps in and acts as General Manager in their absence
