The opportunity to join Proof of the Pudding as an Assistant Concessions General Manager is ideal for professionals looking to leverage their experience in large-scale concessions operations within a dynamic and fast-paced environment. This full-time salaried position, offering a competitive salary range of $65,000 to $70,000, is based at Wake Forest University in Winston Salem, North Carolina. The role provides a unique chance to be deeply involved in the planning, management, and execution of food and beverage concessions across multiple sporting and special events, such as football, basketball, baseball, soccer, tennis, concerts, and band competitions. The Assistant Concessions General Manager will be instrumental in ensuring each event is delivered flawlessly from preparation through clean-up.

This leadership position calls for a hands-on leader who emphasizes team development, mentorship, and open communication across multiple departments including sales, operations, concessions, and culinary teams. The role’s responsibilities include managing staff, logistics, vendor relations, and ensuring compliance with sanitation and food safety standards aligned with both legal requirements and company policies. The successful candidate will also play a key role in hiring and onboarding new employees, maintaining uniform standards and workplace culture, and overseeing warehouse inventory and ordering processes.

Job Requirements

  • Degree in management, food and beverage, hospitality or related field
  • 2 plus years of leadership experience in food and beverage operations or high volume concessions
  • experience in stadiums or special events strongly preferred
  • must live near or be willing to relocate to Winston Salem, NC

Job Duties

  • Overseeing and effectively managing day-to-day duties to ensure that each event is executed flawlessly from start to finish
  • supervising football, basketball, and other athletic and special events concessions
  • maintaining a safe, secure, and healthy environment by enforcing sanitation and food safety standards
  • managing and developing the leadership team with a focus on growth and mentorship
  • assisting with the hiring and onboarding process for new employees
  • organizing communication and meetings with sales, operations, concessions, and culinary teams for event preparation
  • managing vendor relations to ensure successful service and operations
  • setting standards for staff including uniform expectations and customer service policies
  • assisting with ordering, logistics, and warehouse inventory management
  • leading scheduled teams during events and attending events to oversee execution
  • enhancing department reputation by exploring ways to add value and meet new requests
  • performing other related duties as necessary
