Job Description
Wendy's is a well-established fast-food restaurant chain renowned for its quality menu offerings, commitment to customer service, and strong brand presence across the United States and internationally. Known for its fresh, made-to-order meals and iconic square beef patties, Wendy's has built a loyal customer base by consistently delivering high standards in food safety, cleanliness, and customer satisfaction. The company prides itself on fostering a supportive and engaging work environment that values employee growth, teamwork, and operational excellence. Wendy's employs a structured management hierarchy aimed at maintaining smooth daily operations while upholding the company’s policies, procedures, and federal, state, and local regulations.
The Assistant General Manager (AGM) at Wendy's plays a critical leadership role in supporting the General Manager to ensure the restaurant runs efficiently and meets performance goals. This is a full-time role requiring a strong commitment to operational success, team development, and customer service excellence. The AGM is responsible for the day-to-day management of staff and operations, including the enforcement of food safety procedures, adherence to company policies, and regulatory compliance. They assist in interviewing, selecting, and training shift managers and crew members, creating an engaging workplace culture that encourages employee retention and professional growth. The AGM must be adept at multitasking in a fast-paced environment and able to communicate effectively with all levels of restaurant staff.
In this position, the AGM will also contribute to achieving sales targets by participating in marketing initiatives, handling profit and cost management, and maintaining quality standards through "Dave's Way" certification. The role demands an ability to maintain safe working conditions, manage inventory, and ensure execution of preventive maintenance on equipment. Customer relations and complaint resolution are key aspects, requiring the AGM to uphold Wendy's "Customer Courtesy" policies consistently. Moreover, the AGM supports human resources activities such as recruiting, compensating, and training employees while ensuring compliance with all employment laws.
The physical demands of the job include standing for extended periods, lifting heavy items, and working in varied environmental conditions. Flexibility in scheduling with a minimum of 50 work hours per week, including working different shifts, is essential for successful performance. The ideal candidate will have at least an associate’s degree and one year of restaurant operation experience or equivalent educational and practical background, possess supervisory skills, be certified in food safety, and demonstrate strong leadership and organizational abilities.
This opportunity offers a dynamic career path for individuals passionate about the fast-food industry, looking to develop management skills and contribute to a leading brand. Employment with Wendy's as an Assistant General Manager is an opportunity to be part of a growth-driven restaurant chain focused on quality, service, and professional development. Compensation details are typically competitive within the industry, reflecting the responsibilities and skills required for this critical role.
