Job Description
Border Foods began as a simple idea between two brothers to open a Mexican restaurant and has since grown into one of the largest privately held Taco Bell franchisees in America. With a deep-rooted commitment to a people-first mantra, Border Foods has evolved into a company that prioritizes the growth, well-being, and success of every team member from cooks to cashiers, and restaurant managers to support staff. As a thriving franchise operator, Border Foods embodies a culture that embraces the Core Values of Accountability, Integrity, Family, Excellence, Teamwork, and Empowerment. The company takes pride in a family-oriented atmosphere where employees are continuously encouraged to learn, evolve, and positively impact their work environment and customer experience.
As an Assistant Manager at Border Foods, you will be entrusted with the vital responsibility of reinforcing the company’s CORE values while overseeing the overall operation of a restaurant. This role is designed to unlock the full potential of employees and create an exceptional guest experience by maintaining a safe, welcoming, and supportive environment where everyone can thrive. As a leader, you will act as a champion for the team by coaching, motivating, and guiding team members to uphold high standards in food quality, service, and cleanliness. This position requires a strategic mindset to build a strong, efficient team and foster an environment that exemplifies excellent customer service and operational excellence.
The Assistant Manager plays a critical role in driving restaurant success by managing day-to-day operations, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, and supporting financial management tasks such as profit and loss (P&L) analysis. You will be responsible for staff scheduling, training, and development, creating a team culture that promotes recognition and employee empowerment. This includes resolving employee queries, handling customer complaints with sincerity, and ensuring that the restaurant functions smoothly from opening to close.
Border Foods offers competitive compensation with hourly wages ranging from $14 to $35 per hour, flexible scheduling options, and an attractive bonus program for Assistant General Managers with the potential to earn up to an additional $20,000 annually. In addition to financial rewards, the company provides education programs including GED and tuition reimbursement, scholarship opportunities, and comprehensive medical, dental, and vision benefits available even to part-time employees. The organization fosters an incredible culture of career growth and support, recognizing the importance of work-life balance through paid vacation, sick leave, and holiday pay, complemented by a vacation donation program.
This is a non-exempt management role that expects a minimum 50-hour workweek, which may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and some holidays. For those passionate about leadership within the restaurant industry, Border Foods provides a dynamic platform to make a difference, develop professionally, and become an integral part of a family-oriented and value-driven company. It is important to note that employment is with Border Foods as an independent franchisee of Taco Bell, and not directly with Taco Bell Corporation or its affiliates.
