The role of Assistant Manager at Border Foods is integral to the success of the restaurants and the overall guest experience. This position involves overseeing the entire operation of the restaurant while building and maintaining a strong, effective team that consistently delivers quality food and friendly service. With an employment type focusing on a non-exempt management status, Assistant Managers are expected to work a minimum of 50 hours per week, including varying shifts such as early mornings, evenings, late nights, weekends, and holidays as needed. The compensation range offered is competitive, between $14 and $35 per hour, with excellent bonus opportunities that could add up to an additional $20,000 annually.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver’s license and vehicle insurance
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Minimum of one year restaurant or retail experience
  • ServeSafe certified
  • Ability to work flexible hours including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Willingness to work a minimum of 50 hours per week
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Capable of managing a team and restaurant operations
  • Physical ability to sit, stand, bend, lift, and move intermittently during working hours

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of one year restaurant or retail experience
  • Experience with sales building, P&L statements, recruiting, and training
  • Proven track record of successful hiring and retention
  • ServeSafe certification
  • Ability to work varied shifts including early mornings, evenings, late nights, weekends, and some holidays
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver’s license and vehicle insurance
  • At least 18 years of age
