Job Description

HMSHost Corporation is a leading global restaurateur specializing in providing food and beverage services in travel venues such as airports, highways, and shopping malls. The company is recognized for delivering high-quality dining experiences through a network of diverse restaurant brands, ranging from quick service restaurants (QSR) to casual dining establishments. With a strong commitment to operational excellence and customer satisfaction, HMSHost emphasizes career development opportunities, comprehensive employee benefits, and a culture of inclusion and diversity. Joining HMSHost means becoming part of a dynamic industry leader that values innovation, teamwork, and professional growth in the food service domain.

The AGM is responsible for assisting with the tactical execution of complex operational tasks typical of QSR or casual dining environments. This includes overseeing the restaurant environment to ensure it is clean, well-prepared for business, properly staffed, and operating according to high standards of quality and service.

In this role, the AGM is instrumental in managing daily activities of restaurant associates, ensuring adherence to corporate policies, and maintaining compliance with health, safety, and adult beverage regulations. The Assistant General Manager contributes to the hiring, development, and retention of staff by conducting interviews, making employment decisions, and fostering a positive work culture that promotes HMSHost as an employer of choice in the community. Additionally, the AGM reviews and interprets financial and operational reports to monitor progress towards unit goals and optimizes scheduling to meet business demands efficiently.

HMSHost values associate welfare and ensures that all employees take mandated breaks and meal periods while promoting wellness and safety practices in the workplace. The Assistant General Manager is also responsible for maintaining inventory controls, placing orders, receiving goods, and handling invoicing to support smooth business operations. The position demands a hands-on leader capable of problem-solving, exercising good judgment, and taking initiative to resolve customer and associate concerns promptly.

The environment at HMSHost encourages career advancement through training and professional development opportunities. The company also offers a robust benefits package including health, dental, and vision insurance; generous paid time off; holiday pay; meal and transportation benefits; a 401(k) retirement plan with company match; company-paid life insurance; tuition reimbursement; employee assistance programs; and referral bonuses.
