Job Description

As the Assistant General Manager, you will be at the core of daily restaurant operations, stepping in with confidence during the General Manager's absence to make key decisions and drive the team towards excellence. Your leadership will be fundamental in modeling the MIC Success Routine to ensure consistent customer satisfaction and maintaining high food safety and operational standards. This role requires a hands-on leader who is passionate about training, coaching, and recognizing team members to deliver exceptional service and foster a positive, productive work environment.
You will collaborate closely with the General Manager in assessing team performance, providing constructive feedback, and addressing employee relations issues promptly and effectively. Additionally, you will play a crucial role in the recruitment process by sourcing, interviewing, and hiring team members who align with the brand’s values and culture. Acting as an owner, you will assist with profit and loss management, including cash control, security procedures, inventory maintenance, and labor management, ensuring the restaurant operates efficiently and profitably.
The role also includes supporting facility maintenance and ensuring health and safety standards are consistently followed, safeguarding both employees and customers. Job Requirements
- 3+ years of restaurant or retail management experience
- Assist with profit and loss management by following cash control and security procedures, maintaining inventory, managing labor, and reviewing financial reports
- Ensure all employees receive proper training and resources
- Champion Taco Bell’s culture and values, promoting equity, inclusion, and belonging in the restaurant
- Lead efforts in individual and team recognition, collaboration, and motivation
- Identify and recruit exceptional talent, supporting the GM in the hiring process
- Possess strong communication skills for conducting performance appraisals, taking disciplinary action, and motivating and training employees
- Adhere to corporate policies, procedures, and occupational health and food safety standards
Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Ensure consistent customer satisfaction by effectively modeling the MIC Success Routine and prioritizing customer needs
- Oversee team members' adherence to Shift Excellence responsibilities, maintain high food safety standards, and uphold Core excellence
- Take charge of restaurant operations in the GM's absence
- Collaborate with the GM in assessing team performance, providing ongoing constructive and positive feedback
- Address employee relations issues as they arise, determine immediate resolutions, or escalate to the GM when necessary
- Assist in sourcing, recruiting, interviewing, and hiring team members, while driving a culture of equity, inclusion, and belonging
- Assist with profit and loss management, including cash control, security procedures, inventory maintenance, and labor management
- Review financial reports and take appropriate actions to optimize performance
- Support the GM in facility maintenance and ensure health and safety standards are consistently followed
