Job Description
Sandpiper Hospitality (SH) is recognized as one of the fastest-growing companies in the extended stay hospitality market. The company prides itself on delivering exceptional customer service and maintaining high operational standards across its properties. SH operates with a strong culture centered around values such as "We Grow By Giving" and "Play To Win," fostering an environment of teamwork, continuous improvement, and professional development. With its commitment to excellence and growth, Sandpiper Hospitality provides a dynamic workplace where employees are empowered to make meaningful contributions and advance their careers within the industry.
The Assistant General Manager (AGM) role at Sandpiper Hospitality is a vital leadership position that reports directly to the General Manager (GM). This role is fundamentally the second-in-command within the property management team and plays a hands-on role in driving operational success. As the AGM, you are charged with not only supporting the GM in the daily management of the hotel operations but also stepping into full leadership responsibilities in the GM’s absence. This position requires a proactive, hands-on leader who can ensure the property meets its performance goals in areas such as customer service, financial management, staff development, and operational efficiency.
Key responsibilities include overseeing front desk operations, acting as the Manager on Duty during various shifts, and ensuring that all property and brand standards are consistently achieved. A critical element of the role is team leadership: the AGM routinely directs work activities for multiple employees, plays a fundamental role in staffing decisions including hiring and promoting, and oversees employee training, coaching, and performance evaluations. Financial acumen is essential as the AGM will assist the GM with budgeting, cash controls, revenue management, and sales efforts to boost property occupancy and profitability.
Another important aspect of the Assistant General Manager role is maintaining a superior guest experience. This involves monitoring guest feedback through social media and direct interactions, promptly addressing any issues, and championing initiatives like the "Say Yes to a Simple Request" program to enhance guest satisfaction. Additionally, the AGM is responsible for safeguarding company assets, enforcing security and confidentiality standards, and stepping into operational roles as needed to support the smooth functioning of the hotel.
Sandpiper Hospitality offers the Assistant General Manager a rewarding career path with competitive benefits, including paid time off, healthcare options with significant employer contributions, travel perks, and a robust recognition program. The company invests heavily in employee growth and professional development through comprehensive training programs, positioning the AGM for future advancement into General Manager roles. Joining Sandpiper Hospitality means becoming part of a vibrant, growth-oriented team that values your leadership, creativity, and dedication to service excellence.
