In the role of Assistant General Manager, you will be a pivotal figure in ensuring the smooth and successful operation of the restaurant. Working closely with the Restaurant General Manager (GM), you will lead by example and inspire your team, fostering an environment where exceptional customer experiences are the norm. Your responsibilities will include managing daily operations, particularly in the absence of the GM, which includes making critical decisions to maintain high standards and operational efficiency. This role demands a hands-on approach to coaching and training team members, recognizing their efforts, and motivating them to excel in their roles. You will be instrumental in sustaining a positive workplace culture by driving equity, inclusion, and belonging throughout all team interactions and recruiting processes.

Operational excellence is a key focus of this position. You will oversee shift responsibilities, maintain rigorous food safety measures, and ensure core operational standards are met consistently. Financial acumen is required as you assist in Profit and Loss (P&L) management, including cash control, inventory oversight, labor management, and financial reporting. Your input will be crucial in optimizing the restaurant’s performance through careful review and actionable insights. Additionally, you will collaborate with the GM in handling employee relations, resolving issues promptly, and ensuring compliance with all corporate policies and safety regulations.

The role offers a competitively compensated 50-hour workweek, with 40 hours at regular pay and 10 hours at overtime rates, balancing reward with commitment. Job Requirements

  • 3+ years of restaurant or retail management experience
  • Assist with p&l management by following cash control and security procedures, maintaining inventory, managing labor, and reviewing financial reports
  • Ensure all employees receive proper training and resources
  • Champion taco bell's culture and values, promoting equity, inclusion, and belonging in the restaurant
  • Lead efforts in individual and team recognition, collaboration, and motivation
  • Identify and recruit exceptional talent, supporting the gm in the hiring process
  • Possess strong communication skills for conducting performance appraisals, taking disciplinary action, and motivating and training employees
  • Adhere to corporate policies, procedures, and occupational health and food safety standards

Job Duties

  • Ensure consistent customer satisfaction by effectively modeling the MIC Success Routine and prioritizing customer needs
  • Oversee team members' adherence to shift excellence responsibilities, maintain high food safety standards, and uphold core excellence
  • Take charge of restaurant operations in the GM’s absence
  • Collaborate with the GM in assessing team performance, providing ongoing constructive and positive feedback
  • Address employee relations issues as they arise, determine immediate resolutions, or escalate to the GM when necessary
  • Assist in sourcing, recruiting, interviewing, and hiring team members while driving a culture of equity, inclusion, and belonging
  • Act like an owner by assisting with profit and loss management, including cash control, security procedures, inventory maintenance, and labor management
  • Review financial reports and take appropriate actions to optimize performance
  • Support the GM in facility maintenance and ensure health and safety standards are consistently followed
