The role of Operations Manager at MV Transportation is a pivotal leadership position responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a designated transportation contract. This full-time position demands a strategic, hands-on approach to managing all facets of the assigned operating location, ensuring that annual business plans are met and that service delivery remains efficient and compliant with contract and company policies. The Operations Manager acts as the primary point of contact for on-time performance, driver availability, and dispatch functions, working closely with both internal teams and external clients to maintain high standards of service.

In this role, the Operations Manager will play a critical part in staff development by identifying, selecting, training, and mentoring location personnel, ensuring that team members are equipped to meet operational demands and uphold safety standards. Communication is a key element, with expectations to maintain frequent and effective dialogue with staff and support teams, ensuring everyone is aligned with performance goals and company policies. The Operations Manager will also support safety and training programs, contributing to a strong safety culture that meets contractual, regulatory, and company requirements.

Additional responsibilities include managing customer relations by engaging directly and through outreach programs, conducting periodic audits to monitor compliance and performance, and regularly reviewing operational metrics on daily, weekly, and monthly bases. The individual in this position is expected to uphold labor relations activities and enforce company policies, fostering a positive work environment. Experience with scheduling, personnel management, and labor relations will be important to successfully navigate the fast-paced nature of the transportation industry.

  • knowledge of the contractual obligations is a must
  • knowledge of company policy assures consistent measures to assess a drivers' activity
  • Trapeze experience preferred
  • experience managing fast paced environment

Job Duties
