The role of Assistant General Manager, Dining Services, is a critical leadership position within Boston College’s dining operations, specifically within the BCDS Corcoran Commons department. This full-time position plays an essential role in managing day-to-day dining services with annual sales exceeding $3.5 million, delivering exceptional quality and service to students, faculty, and staff across a fast-paced campus environment. The Assistant General Manager supports dynamic leadership by assisting in planning, coordinating, and operational management, ensuring that all activities align with established quality standards and organizational goals.

Key responsibilities include supervising junior management teams as well as full-time, part-time, and student employees, while fostering a competent and harmonious work environment. The role requires an individual equipped to manage budgets, control expenses, and maximize revenue streams efficiently. Job Requirements

  • bachelor's degree in hotel and restaurant management or business administration
  • extensive relevant experience in combination with education may substitute
  • minimum of four years' experience in a food service operation
  • at least three years in a management capacity of high volume food service operation
  • ability to manage and work effectively with students, faculty, and staff clientele in high-volume and fast-paced environment
  • outstanding organizational, communication, human relations, and interpersonal skills
  • ability to coordinate and gain the cooperation of a large and diverse staff
