Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of one year of management experience in the hospitality industry
  • Ability to communicate effectively with guests management and staff
  • Willingness to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
  • Knowledge of budget preparation and cost control
  • Familiarity with hotel department operations
  • Ability to interpret safety rules and procedural documents
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team
  • Knowledge of property management systems
  • Understanding of local attractions and amenities

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of one year of management experience in the hospitality industry
  • Ability to satisfactorily communicate with guests management and co-workers
  • High school graduate or equivalent college degree in hospitality management or business preferred
  • Bilingual English/Spanish a plus
  • Knowledge of budget preparation and cost controls
  • Working knowledge of all hotel departments
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees
  • Ability to apply good judgment to carry out instructions
  • Knowledgeable of the property management system
  • Knowledge of local activities and attractions appropriate for clientele

Job Duties

  • Be available to work a flexible schedule including weekends holidays and varied shifts
  • Focus on achievement of hotel financial goals and budget targets
  • Ensure payroll and purchasing controls are in place to maintain and exceed profit goals
  • Assist in developing long and short-range financial objectives consistent with property objectives
  • Ensure all Shaner and franchise operating standards are followed
  • Be accessible to guests and employees
  • Maintain complete knowledge of hotel features room types rates room availability and expected arrivals and departures
  • Handle guest complaints ensuring guest satisfaction
  • Assist staff with their job functions to ensure optimum service to guests
  • Lead all aspects of employee performance to ensure productivity and a quality work environment
  • Establish maintain and train standards and procedures for cleaning and safe working conditions in all departments
  • Work to ensure high scores for customer service cleanliness and related items on all Shaner and Franchise inspections
  • Perform other duties as assigned
