Job Description
The Argonaut Hotel is an iconic establishment located within the historic Haslett Warehouse building at San Francisco's famous Fisherman's Wharf. Renowned for its prime location and stunning views of the San Francisco Bay, Alcatraz Island, and the Golden Gate Bridge, the hotel has earned the prestigious AAA Four Diamond Award for 18 consecutive years. This recognition is a testament to the Argonaut's dedication to providing an exceptional guest experience anchored in luxury, comfort, and a welcoming atmosphere. Situated just steps from popular attractions such as Ghirardelli Square and Hyde Street Pier, the Argonaut Hotel offers guests a unique blend of historical charm and modern amenities in one of San Francisco's most vibrant neighborhoods.
The Argonaut Hotel operates under the Noble House Hotels & Resorts brand, which prides itself on a philosophy centered around "location, distinction, and soul." Far from a generic hotel chain, the Argonaut cultivates a distinctive culture where individuality, creativity, and genuine hospitality flourish. The team at the Argonaut embraces a family-oriented atmosphere, fostering a close-knit, enjoyable workplace where employees can let their personalities shine while delivering memorable experiences to guests. The hotel also actively supports Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility initiatives, creating an inclusive environment where all voices are valued, and every employee has the opportunity to express themselves authentically.
Joining the Argonaut Hotel as an Assistant Front Desk Manager means becoming an integral part of a professional, fun, and creative Front Desk Team. This role involves leadership responsibilities focused on managing the daily operations of the front desk to ensure all guests experience efficient, courteous, and professional service. The Assistant Front Desk Manager oversees the check-in and check-out processes, addresses guest needs and concerns promptly, and champions service recovery efforts when necessary to maintain high guest satisfaction.
In addition to guest interaction, this position requires supervising and developing the front desk staff through effective training, coaching, and team development strategies. Scheduling and staffing duties are essential to ensure the front desk operates smoothly in alignment with labor forecasts and hotel guidelines. The Assistant Front Desk Manager also collaborates closely with other hotel departments, including concierge, valet, taxi services, and airport connections, to facilitate seamless guest service and communication.
The hotel environment is fast-paced and dynamic, demanding strong organizational skills, flexibility, and the ability to remain calm under pressure. Proficiency with hotel management systems, especially Opera PMS, and Microsoft Office applications is preferred. The role emphasizes leadership qualities that drive improvements, foster teamwork, and nurture a positive workplace culture. Benefits include competitive medical, dental, and vision insurance plans, paid holidays, vacation, sick leave, and a 401K retirement plan, among others.
If you thrive in a vibrant hospitality setting and enjoy leading a dedicated team to deliver outstanding guest experiences, the Argonaut Hotel offers a rewarding career opportunity as an Assistant Front Desk Manager. Become part of a celebrated institution where your efforts contribute to every guest's unforgettable stay while embracing the hotel's commitment to excellence, inclusivity, and community.
