Job Description
The Shelter Club is a timeless and sophisticated pool bar and restaurant renowned for its casual fare, craft beer, and cocktails. Located right behind the outdoor third-floor pool, it offers guests a unique dining experience where they can relish refreshing drinks and delicious sandwiches, salads, and more without having to leave their pool chairs. This inviting venue fosters an atmosphere of relaxation and enjoyment, paired with beautiful ocean views from its expansive pool deck. Guests often take dips in the sparkling pool while savoring their orders, making it an ideal spot for unwinding, dining, and socializing in a stylish yet comfortable setting.
The Seabird Resort, home to The Shelter Club, is currently seeking an experienced Assistant Food and Beverage Manager to oversee its diverse food and beverage operations within the hotel. This full-time, on-site position plays a critical role in ensuring the seamless functioning of dining outlets, including scheduling, forecasting, training, and compliance with federal, state, and local laws, as well as adhering to all operational procedures. The Assistant Food and Beverage Manager will actively participate in coaching and developing the front of house team, managing payroll and tip distribution, and occasionally lending support to other food and beverage outlets in the property when necessary.
Ideal candidates for this role will have a minimum of two years of management experience in food and beverage, with a preference for those who possess extensive knowledge of wine and beverages. Strong organizational, communication, and analytical skills are essential to excel in this high-pressure and fast-paced environment. Additionally, the role demands a team-oriented, guest-focused individual who can lead dynamically and exhibit strong emotional intelligence while mentoring staff. With a salary range of $70,304 to $79,400, this position offers competitive compensation based on experience and education.
The Assistant Food and Beverage Manager will also be responsible for handling customer complaints professionally and promptly, coordinating special events, and ensuring all food safety protocols are rigorously followed. Proficiency with technology, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, is required to manage the various administrative aspects effectively. The ability to work a flexible schedule that includes weekends, holidays, and overnight shifts is necessary to meet the needs of the operation.
Hyatt, the parent company of The Seabird Resort, offers an attractive benefits package to its employees. Employees enjoy a variety of perks such as complimentary hotel room nights worldwide, unlimited discounted room rates for friends and family, bereavement and jury duty pay, comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance, life and disability coverage, flexible spending accounts, a retirement savings plan with employer match (401k), an employee stock purchase plan, and complimentary meals. These benefits create a supportive work environment that values the well-being and growth of its colleagues.
Overall, The Shelter Club's Assistant Food and Beverage Manager position is an exciting opportunity for a motivated food and beverage professional who thrives in a dynamic, guest-focused environment. With the chance to work in an exceptional setting that combines excellent food, drinks, and ocean views, this role offers a balance of leadership responsibility and hands-on team involvement at a prestigious resort destination.
