Job Description

JW Marriott is a prestigious part of Marriott International's luxury portfolio, renowned for operating over 100 stunning properties in gateway cities and distinctive resort destinations worldwide. As a luxury hospitality leader, JW Marriott embodies sophistication, exceptional guest service, and a commitment to creating remarkable experiences. The brand is dedicated to fostering a workplace culture where associates are prioritized, recognizing that happy team members lead to happy guests. JW Marriott associates are encouraged to be confident, innovative, genuine, and intuitive, creating a vibrant community with camaraderie among a diverse group of coworkers. The company invests in comprehensive training, personal development, and well-being programs to cultivate growth and recognition within a luxury environment, underscoring the belief that exceptional guest service starts with exceptional care for its associates—this philosophy is known as The JW Treatment™.

The Food and Beverage Supervisor role at JW Marriott is a pivotal position within the culinary and dining operations. This role involves assisting with the supervision of daily food and beverage activities, ensuring that guests and team members alike feel valued. The supervisor plays a crucial part in managing operational standards, maintaining compliance with legal obligations, and overseeing budgetary controls. Key responsibilities revolve around managing daily operations, including ordering supplies, supervising shifts, and ensuring adherence to food and beverage policies and standards. The supervisor supports a monthly self-inspection program designed to uphold high service and safety standards, and is responsible for the operation and maintenance of all departmental equipment.

The role also focuses on team leadership by managing staffing levels effectively and fostering an environment of mutual trust, respect, and cooperation. The Food and Beverage Supervisor develops specific actionable goals to prioritize and organize work, celebrates team successes, and learns from challenges, reinforcing a culture of continuous improvement. Clear and proactive communication is essential, particularly in addressing operational areas needing attention and ensuring all team members understand expectations. Furthermore, the role includes coordinating cleaning programs across all food and beverage areas, analyzing trends, and recommending improvements. Staff availability and approachability are key, supporting both the team and compliance with property-specific recovery plans. The supervisor exemplifies the brand's service culture through exceptional guest service, role modeling professional behavior, and resolving guest concerns with a proactive and positive approach.

In this role, the supervisor also actively engages with guest satisfaction by reviewing feedback and comment cards, collaborating with employees, and responding promptly to requests from the customer service department. Candidates for this role should possess a minimum of a high school diploma or GED with at least three years of experience in food and beverage, culinary, or a related field. Alternatively, candidates with a two-year degree in Food Service Management, Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or a related area, combined with one year of relevant experience, are also suitable.

The ideal candidate will be skilled in analyzing information and evaluating results to make effective decisions and solve problems. Financial acumen including understanding budgets, operating statements, and payroll reports is necessary. Flexibility is important, as the role occasionally requires performing hourly duties. Above all, professionalism, courtesy, and a genuine commitment to the team are essential traits. Joining JW Marriott not only places associates in an excellent career path but also integrates them into a global network defined by excellence, purpose, and belonging. Marriott International promotes equal opportunity, valuing diversity and fostering an inclusive environment where every associate's unique background is celebrated and respected.
