The Residence Inn by Marriott Berkeley, a prominent property under Pyramid Global Hospitality, offers a vibrant and energizing environment for both guests and employees. Standing 17 stories tall in the heart of Downtown Berkeley, California, the hotel features 331 suites designed with fully equipped kitchens and separate living spaces, catering to extended-stay travelers who seek comfort and convenience. The property boasts over 15,000 square feet of adaptable meeting and event space, as well as a rooftop restaurant and bar that provides breathtaking views of the San Francisco Bay Area. Its prime location, just half a block from the Downtown Berkeley BART station and multiple bus routes, ensures easy accessibility for commuters and visitors alike. We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Restaurant and Banquet Manager to oversee the daily restaurant and banquet operations at the Residence Inn by Marriott Berkeley. This pivotal role demands a leader who is passionate about delivering excellent guest service and managing high-quality food and beverage offerings to ensure the overall profitability of the restaurant. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising the entire restaurant and banquet staff, maintaining inventory and labor cost controls, enforcing quality and safety standards, and optimizing operational efficiency in alignment with hotel policies and brand standards. Serving as a vital liaison between front-of-house, kitchen, and sales teams, the manager will champion a seamless and memorable dining experience for guests, handle guest inquiries and complaints professionally, and drive initiatives that enhance guest satisfaction and loyalty.

The Restaurant and Banquet Manager will also be instrumental in collaborating with culinary and sales departments to develop creative special promotions, seasonal menus, and themed events designed to attract a diverse clientele while maximizing revenue. By monitoring service quality through guest reviews and feedback, the manager will implement continuous improvements to maintain service excellence. Furthermore, the role requires adeptness in utilizing POS systems and restaurant management software to streamline operations. Strong leadership skills will be essential to training, scheduling, and supervising a diverse team of servers, hosts, bartenders, bussers, and food and beverage attendants, ensuring strict adherence to grooming standards, service protocols, health, safety, and liquor regulations.

This full-time position offers competitive compensation ranging from $70,000 to $80,000 annually. It presents an excellent opportunity for professionals with a bachelor’s degree in hospitality management or a related field, and three to five years of restaurant management experience, who thrive in a fast-paced environment and are committed to excellence in guest service.
