Job Description

Uline is a family-owned company recognized as North America's leading distributor of shipping, industrial, and packaging materials. With a workforce of over 9,800 employees spread across 14 strategic locations, Uline has established itself as a trusted partner in the logistics and supply chain industry. Known for its commitment to quality, customer service, and operational excellence, Uline offers a dynamic and inclusive workplace where employees can thrive and contribute to the company's ongoing growth and success.

The Assistant Facilities Manager position at Uline's California branch located at 4810 South Hellman Avenue, Ontario, CA 91762, is a critical role that upholds the company's commitment to maintaining top-tier facility standards. This full-time employment opportunity offers a competitive salary ranging from $90,000 to $130,000 per year, reflecting the demanding nature and significant responsibilities of the role. The Assistant Facilities Manager will play a pivotal role in overseeing multiple teams responsible for the upkeep and functional integrity of the facility.

This role focuses on hands-on management of daily maintenance operations, prioritizing inspections and preventive care to ensure a safe, efficient, and employee-friendly work environment. You will supervise and coordinate the activities of maintenance, security, grounds, and custodial teams. The Assistant Facilities Manager will be directly involved in assigning duties that span essential building trades such as carpentry, electrical work, painting, plumbing, HVAC, roofing, and security tasks. Routine inspections of buildings, sites, and various equipment are integral, with an emphasis on prompt responses to emergency repair needs.

The position demands collaboration with external vendors to oversee contracted services while maintaining thorough records and preparing detailed reports for management review. These reports may cover work orders, staffing, audits, and other operational metrics essential for maintaining facility standards and ensuring compliance.

The working hours typically run from Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 4:30 PM, with occasional requirements to be available for evening and weekend shifts. The role includes the possibility of after-hours and weekend on-call duties, demanding flexibility and dedication.

Uline provides an exceptional benefits package and employee perks, including comprehensive health insurance coverage, a 401(k) plan with a 6% employer match starting from day one, multiple bonus programs, paid holidays, and generous paid time off. There is also a Tuition Assistance Program supporting ongoing professional education. Employees benefit from best-in-class, clean, and modern facilities, along with access to a first-class fitness center.

Joining Uline means becoming part of a drug-free workplace committed to equal employment opportunity for all, including veterans and disabled individuals. The company requires pre-employment hair follicle drug screening to maintain its safety and compliance standards. This is an on-site position, emphasizing the importance of direct engagement and leadership presence in maintaining facility excellence. Uline's inclusive culture, comprehensive benefits, strategic growth, and commitment to operational excellence make this an excellent career opportunity for a motivated and experienced Assistant Facilities Manager.
