The Assistant Executive Chef or Kitchen Manager role at P.F. Chang’s is a full-time non-exempt position offering competitive pay ranging from $70,012.80 to $90,004.20 annually based on experience, equivalent to an hourly rate of $24.48 to $31.47 for a 50-hour work week. This position plays a critical role in managing the culinary operations of the restaurant kitchen, ensuring that all food preparation meets brand standards for quality and consistency. Reporting directly to the Executive Chef or Kitchen Manager, the assistant culinary manager will support day-to-day kitchen activities, supervise and train staff, and contribute significantly to maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient kitchen environment.
Key responsibilities include overseeing the hiring, orientation, and continual training of Sous Chefs and kitchen staff, developing work schedules, monitoring safety certifications, and managing inventory to control food costs effectively. The assistant manager will also be responsible for performing opening and closing checklists, ensuring proper timing and production of food orders, and holding staff accountable for dress code and operational standards. This role requires a hands-on leader comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume setting, capable of supporting team members while driving operational excellence.
