Job Requirements
- Valid driver’s license
- 2+ years of culinary management experience
- ability to work in fast-paced, high volume environment
- ability to manage and develop team members
- ability to communicate effectively
- ability to manage inventory and control food costs
- ability to stand and walk for 8-10 hours per shift
- ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- ability to work in warm kitchen temperatures
Job Qualifications
- 2+ years of culinary management experience
- experience managing and writing prep lists
- experience working in a fast-paced, high volume kitchen environment
- experience managing a team and developing employees
- effective communication and organizational skills
- understanding of inventory management and cost control
- ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- ability to lift and transport objects up to 50 lbs
- bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
- experience in casual or upscale dining preferred
- experience in restaurant chains or franchises preferred
Job Duties
- Accountable for operational excellence in the kitchen
- delegate tasks and give direction to all kitchen staff
- conduct initial interviews with kitchen management and staff candidates
- select, orient, and continually develop all Sous Chefs and kitchen staff
- prepare work schedules for Sous Chef and kitchen staff
- preserve safety certification requirements for all kitchen staff
- supervise and facilitate all training for food preparation and menu execution
- maintain all product quality standards
- manage food costs and inventory
- ensure proper timing and production for food orders
- conduct performance appraisals for Sous Chefs and kitchen staff
- enforce dress code standards
- oversee or complete all prep lists and ordering guides
- complete opening and closing checklists
- manage maintenance and repairs of kitchen equipment and facility
- proficiently operate all kitchen stations
- provide a clean and safe environment for team members and guests
