We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Event Manager to join our team in a full-time, management capacity. This position is based onsite and offers an hourly pay range of $25.77 to $34.62, along with bonus eligibility, reflective of the dedication and expertise expected. The Event Manager plays a critical role in ensuring the flawless execution of banquet and event services, overseeing all aspects of event operations from initial planning and set-up to final execution and guest satisfaction. This role requires excellent leadership skills as the manager will lead and motivate a diverse team of banquet, event service, and event technology staff to deliver a memorable and seamless guest experience.
The Event Manager is responsible for coordinating with culinary and stewarding teams to communicate service needs, overseeing the preparation of event spaces according to detailed event orders, and ensuring all visual and operational standards are met. This includes verifying proper table settings, cleanliness of service items such as china, glass, and silverware, and coordinating any special dietary requirements to guarantee guest satisfaction. The role demands a proactive approach in supervising team performance, conducting shift briefings, and maintaining compliance with brand standards and legal safety obligations.
Additionally, the Event Manager will oversee inventory management, scheduling, and departmental supply orders to maximize operational efficiency and cost control. They will actively participate in pre-event meetings with clients and cross-departmental teams to ensure comprehensive understanding and execution of event requirements. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED or 2-year degree
- Minimum 2 years experience in food and beverage, culinary, guest services, front desk, or housekeeping
- If no formal education, 3 years experience in two hospitality areas
- Strong leadership skills
- Excellent communication
- Ability to manage event operations
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations
- Ability to schedule staff and manage inventory
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED or 2-year degree from an accredited university in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related major
- Minimum 2 years experience in food and beverage, culinary, guest services, front desk, housekeeping, or related professional area
- If no formal education, at least 3 years experience in two hospitality areas including food and beverage or guest services
- Experience running shifts, scheduling, performance management, problem solving, running day-to-day operations, and hospitality skills
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations
- Strong leadership and team-building abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage inventory and departmental supplies
- Experience with banquet beverage tools and cost management
- Ability to conduct pre-event meetings and inspections
- Proficient in event service standards and brand specific meeting services programs
Job Duties
- Communicates service needs to chefs and stewards throughout functions
- Totals charges for group functions and prepares checks for payment
- Verifies banquet rooms, restaurants, and coffee breaks are ready for service
- Ensures proper centerpieces are displayed on every table
- Inspects cleanliness and presentation of all china, glass, and silverware prior to use
- Sets tables according to event type and service standards
- Communicates additional meal requirements, allergies, dietary needs, and special requests to the kitchen
- Maintains cleanliness of work areas throughout the day
- Supports compliance with brand standards and legal obligations
- Leads shift teams to provide consistent, high quality service
- Coordinates and leads daily stand-up meetings, pre-shift meetings and pre/post-meal briefings
- Trains staff in processes and communicates performance expectations
- Assists senior managers with financial and administrative duties
- Strives to improve guest/event and employee satisfaction and maximize financial performance
- Verifies event rooms are set according to documentation and customer requirements
- Leads shifts and participates in servicing events
- Maintains inventory of function room amenities and controllable supplies
- Participates in all pertinent meetings
- Attends pre-event/pre-convention meetings to understand group needs
- Communicates critical information to banquet, event services and event technology teams
- Conducts room function inspections
- Delegates tasks to ensure room sets meet standards and timing
- Maintains attendance log for staff
- Manages departmental inventories and assets
