This position is an exciting opportunity to join Westin as an Event Service Manager, playing a pivotal role in managing and delivering outstanding banquet and event services. The role demands a highly organized and proactive individual who will communicate service needs efficiently to chefs and stewards, ensuring smooth operations during group functions and events. Responsibilities include verifying banquet room setups, ensuring food allergies and dietary requirements are communicated to kitchens, and maintaining impeccable cleanliness and presentation standards for all service ware. The Event Service Manager also leads shift teams, orchestrates daily meetings, sets performance expectations, and trains staff to maintain high-quality service standards throughout the event operations.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED or 2-year degree from an accredited university in hotel and restaurant management, hospitality, business administration, or related major
  • 2 years experience in food and beverage, culinary, guest services, front desk, housekeeping, or related professional area
  • or 3 years of experience in two of the hospitality areas if no formal education
  • experience running shifts, scheduling, and performance management
  • strong problem-solving skills
  • ability to run daily operations
  • excellent hospitality skills

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Communicates service needs to chefs and stewards throughout functions

  • inspects cleanliness and presentation of china, glass, and silver prior to use
  • checks in with guests to verify satisfaction

  • communicates meal requirements, allergies, dietary needs, and special requests to the kitchen
  • maintains cleanliness of work areas throughout the day
  • supports compliance with brand standards and legal obligations
  • supports and leads shift teams to provide consistent, high quality service
  • coordinates and leads daily stand-up meetings and pre/post meal briefings
  • trains staff in processes and communicates performance expectations
