The Food Service Worker role at Aramark is vital in maintaining the quality and safety standards of food production and service. This position involves assisting the manager with meal preparation and ensuring that food and baked goods are prepared according to a planned menu, maintaining accurate cash receipts and meal records, and helping with daily reporting tasks. The worker is also responsible for upholding stringent food safety regulations and sanitation protocols, which include proper storage, handling, and serving of food. In addition, the role requires operating kitchen equipment safely, maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen and storage areas, and performing physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods. The Food Service Worker is expected to coordinate daily with management to ensure menu accuracy and meet the scheduled meal services. This role demands a strong work ethic, the ability to work efficiently under pressure, and attention to detail to guarantee customer satisfaction through visually appealing garnishments and timely preparation of a variety of food items and beverages. The position may also require adherence to uniform and personal protective equipment policies to ensure safety and professionalism in the workplace. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • prior food service or kitchen experience preferred
  • ability to follow detailed instructions

Job Qualifications

  • Food service certificate as needed
  • sufficient education or training to read, write, and follow verbal and written instructions
  • be able to work quickly and concisely under pressure

Job Duties

  • Prepare quality food and baked goods according to a planned menu
  • prepare a daily report that verifies transactions
  • understand what is inclusive of a meal
  • ensure storage of food in an accurate and sanitary manner
  • serve food according to meal schedules, department policies and procedures
  • use and care of kitchen equipment, especially knives
  • timely preparation of a variety of food items and beverages
  • add garnishments to ensure customer happiness and eye appeal
  • coordinate and assist in major cleaning of refrigerators, freezers, and cooking and serving equipment
  • adhere to all food safety regulations for sanitation, food handling, and storage
  • adhere to the uniform policy
  • connect with the manager daily to understand and accurately prepare menu for the day
  • supervise the food temperature requirements
  • maintain a clean and organized work and storage area
  • scrub and polish counters, clean and sanitize steam tables, and other equipment
  • follow established procedures and standards for cleanliness, to ensure a balanced and safe environment including sweeping, moping, ware washing
  • maintain garbage collection site and kitchen floor areas in a neat and sanitary fashion
  • perform other duties as assigned including other areas in the kitchen
  • comply with physical demands such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing
  • wear required uniforms and use personal protective equipment (PPE) as needed
