The role available is that of a full-time Assistant Dining Room Manager. This position is vital within The Cypress’s hospitality team and requires an individual who is enthusiastic about senior care and hospitality services. The Assistant Dining Room Manager plays an integral role in the seamless operation of dining services within the community. Responsibilities include hands-on serving duties as well as management tasks like scheduling shifts, orientating and training staff, managing the Point of Sale (POS) system, and handling reservations and online ordering processes. The position demands flexibility, as it includes working days, evenings, weekends, and holidays, with specific hours from 11:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. The salary offered ranges from $70,000 to $75,000 per annum.

Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent
- minimum two years supervisory experience in front of the house operations within a restaurant, hotel, club or similar institution
- ability to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays including an 11:30 am to 8:00 pm schedule
- strong interpersonal skills
- knowledge of Point of Sale (POS) system
- proficiency with MS Office
- ability to multitask effectively
- fluency in English reading, writing and oral communication
Job Qualifications
- minimum two years supervisory experience in front of the house operations within restaurant, hotel, club or similar institution
- post-secondary education in hospitality management or dining room operations preferred
- excellent interpersonal and social skills to work effectively with residents, patients, families, visitors, peers, supervisors, subordinates and outside contacts
- complete knowledge of Point of Sale (POS) system
- advanced knowledge of MS Office programs
- ability to multitask in a fast paced environment
- able to read, write, and follow oral and written instructions in English
Job Duties
- exemplify community standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and organization
- exhibit dining room appearance and presentation standards always
- supervise physical appearance of dining room area and server stations including table pedestals, table place settings, chairs, floors, drapes and lighting
- coordinate seating of residents and guests in an efficient, courteous manner
- schedule stations and work assignments for wait staff and check out servers to ensure standards are met
- record meal counts, reservations and additional charges
- make morning rounds of dining room, dietary and kitchen to check staff levels
