The Assistant Coordinator of Events and Equipment at SUNY Brockport Athletics plays a vital role in supporting the ongoing growth and success of the university’s athletic programs. Reporting directly to the Assistant Athletic Director and Senior Women’s Administrator, this full-time, professional position is designed to facilitate smooth event and facility operations, manage athletic equipment, and support revenue-generating initiatives that enhance the experiences of student-athletes and fans alike. As SUNY Brockport continues to expand its home contest schedules, increase facility usage, and develop summer camps and external programming, the Assistant Coordinator ensures consistent, high-quality operations throughout the entire year. This includes overseeing the planning and execution of intercollegiate athletic events across 24 varsity sports, coordinating facility access among diverse users, and managing student staff for event and equipment operations. The role encompasses responsibilities such as serving as Building Manager of the Tuttle Complex, maintaining strict adherence to operational policies, and improving athletic facilities through collaboration with maintenance teams. Moreover, the position manages the athletic equipment room’s daily operations, including uniform care and inventory management, vital to ensuring athletes and staff have the necessary gear. The Assistant Coordinator also supports external facility rentals, boosting facility utilization and revenue generation. This dynamic role requires excellent organizational, communication, and management skills, with an emphasis on operational efficiency and enhancing the overall athletic environment at SUNY Brockport. The position offers a competitive salary of $57,151 annually and operates on a 12-month professional full-time appointment within the Enrollment Management Division, Department of Athletics. Job Qualifications

  • Ability to work flexible hours including nights and weekends
  • Experience with event setup and facility operations
  • Knowledge of equipment management and inventory systems

Job Duties

  • Assist with the oversight and execution of event management for all intercollegiate athletic contests
  • Support the hiring, training, and scheduling of student staff including supervisors, event staff, and building managers
  • Assist with game day operations including event setup, breakdown, and facility changeovers
  • Serve as a Building Manager for the Tuttle Complex ensuring safe, efficient daily operations
  • Coordinate athletic facility usage balancing the needs of varsity programs, campus partners, and external groups
  • Assist with scheduling, coordination, and administration of external facility rentals and events contributing to increased facility utilization and revenue generation
  • Support growth and development of summer camps and external programming including logistical planning, staffing, and facility coordination
  • Assist in maintaining and improving athletic facilities through collaboration with facilities and maintenance staff including development of routine maintenance and cleaning schedules
  • Adhere to all campus cash handling and operational policies
  • Attend and help lead weekly operations and departmental staff meetings
  • Assist with the daily operations of the equipment room supporting all varsity programs
  • Oversee laundry operations including collection, cleaning, storage, and distribution of uniforms, practice gear, towels, and related items
  • Assist with supervision, training, and scheduling of student workers in the equipment room
  • Maintain and update equipment room policies and procedures to ensure efficiency and compliance
  • Manage equipment room hours during academic year and coordinate staffing for nights, weekends, and summer operations
  • Maintain a computerized inventory system for all athletic apparel and equipment tracking vendor, purchase date, and condition
  • Assist with issuance, tracking, and return of equipment for student-athletes and staff
