Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • One year experience in large quantity food service
  • Must possess a good driving record and valid Wisconsin driver’s license
  • Must be able to read and interpret directions on packages and labels
  • Must be able to perform basic arithmetic for recipe adjustment and accurate record keeping
  • Must be able to work under pressure to complete assigned duties according to a rigid time schedule
  • Must be able to follow verbal and written directions
  • Must be able to plan and perform daily activities in an accurate and timely manner
  • Must demonstrate a pleasant customer-oriented attitude to patients and staff
  • Must be able to work well with others as part of a team
  • Must observe confidentiality regarding patient information
  • Must keep accurate records and participate in yield studies and new product evaluation

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • One year experience in large quantity food service
  • Ability to read and interpret directions on packages and labels
  • Basic arithmetic skills for recipe adjustments and record keeping
  • Ability to work under pressure and complete duties on a rigid schedule
  • Pleasant, customer-oriented attitude
  • Ability to work well with others as part of a team
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Formal training through food service courses preferred

Job Duties

  • Prepare large quantity breakfast items for patients and personnel
  • Assist in preparation of vegetables, basic sauces, salads, and soups
  • Handle bakery items ready to bake or prepared from simple mixes
  • Assist in production of homemade soups, roast meats, entrees, casseroles, sauces, gravies, and baked items under supervision
  • Follow sanitation and food safety standards
  • Operate food service equipment properly
  • Adjust recipe quantities based on production orders
