Job Requirements
- Some high school education
- prefer some operations experience
- local or municipal food handler certification obtained at applicant's own expense
- reliable and dependable attendance
- physical ability to stand for long periods
- able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
- able to reach high shelving using step ladder
- ability to perform repetitive tasks
- capable of working in a fast-paced environment with high noise levels and heat
- willingness to cross-train on specialized kitchen equipment
Job Qualifications
- Some high school education
- basic understanding of operations practices and concepts
- basic knowledge of recipes and cooking activities
- ability to cook rice and chow mein and learn to cook some entrees
- ability to learn basic front of house responsibilities
- understanding of work and food safety procedures and checklists
- knowledge of proper handling of cleaning chemicals
- ability to be a team builder and trusted leader
- commitment to community outreach
- embraces change and continuous learning
Job Duties
- Ensure workability, intensity & integrity
- perform back of house responsibilities as directed by Assistant Chef II and III
- prepare rice and chow mein
- perform cleaning and sanitizing tasks
- operate kitchen equipment including Chinese knife and wok following safety procedures
- maintain clean, safe, and sanitary store environment
- assist with front of house responsibilities as needed
