As a respected municipal program, it provides a variety of recreational and educational activities designed to foster community engagement and healthy development. The seasonal nature of the program means it operates predominantly during the warmer months, focusing on delivering exceptional camp experiences that meet safety and quality standards. The program is well known for its commitment to safety, fun, and creating a welcoming atmosphere for all participants. It is a dedicated public sector initiative that seeks reliable and motivated individuals to join its team on a part-time basis, specifically from May 1st through September 30th. This employment type is part-time and seasonal, ideal for individuals looking to contribute during the summer period, including students, retirees, or anyone seeking flexible work during these months. Salaries are typically competitive within the public sector for seasonal roles and based on experience and qualifications.

The available role involves joining the team as a Part-time Seasonal Summer Staff member. Reporting under general supervision, the primary responsibility is assisting with meal preparation for Camp Commerce clients, strictly following health department regulations. Moreover, this role emphasizes safety awareness, with tasks that include recognizing and reporting unsafe conditions, accidents, or injuries. Candidates will also be required to have a Food Handler's Certificate issued by the County Health Department. While not mandatory, First Aid and CPR training is preferred or can be obtained within 90 days of employment. There is also an expectation for employees to attend off-season training sessions periodically to ensure ongoing compliance and skill development. This role is perfect for individuals who enjoy working in a team environment, have an interest in food preparation and safety, and want to contribute positively to the camp experience of numerous participants during the summer months.
