The Assistant Banquet Manager position at Valor is a dynamic role requiring an individual who can plan, coordinate, and oversee the full spectrum of banquet events, including weddings, galas, and conferences. This role is critical to ensuring seamless event execution and client satisfaction. Responsibilities include collaborating closely with clients and internal departments such as sales and culinary, managing banquet staff, handling budget oversight, and maintaining high standards for all event operations. The Assistant Banquet Manager is expected to maintain constant communication between culinary and banquet teams, ensure accuracy in banquet event orders (BEOs), supervise room setup, and uphold the aesthetic and operational quality of public areas during events.

This role demands attentiveness to guest needs, making them feel welcome, comfortable, and valued throughout the event. Managing staffing assignments, overseeing equipment usage, reconciling banquet checks, and ensuring paperwork such as Captain's Consumption Sheets and reports are correctly completed are fundamental duties. Job Requirements

  • High school education or equivalent experience
  • Experience in event management, hospitality, or food and beverage service
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing situations
  • Experience with budget management and staff supervision
  • Knowledge of health, safety, and service standards

Job Duties

  • Check server's and house person's BEOs to ensure that all information is accurate
  • Check room set-up to see that BEO directions are completely followed
  • Ensure that all public areas are neat and clean
  • Contact group representatives and explain how to make contact if needed throughout the function
  • Ensure that all food and beverage items are presented and served correctly, adhering to property standards and any special instructions
  • Maintain communication between Culinary Department and Banquet Team during events, alerting team members of schedule changes or challenges
  • Compile and post banquet event checks to correct accounts and present for client signatures
  • Ensure all necessary paperwork including Captain's Consumption Sheets and reports are filled out and distributed
  • Oversee the return of equipment and cleaning of event areas
  • Assign duties to banquet staff and ensure proper sign-in documentation
  • Prepare rooms for functions prior to guest arrival
  • Recap all banquet checks at the end of day
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisors or managers
