Job Description
Lowes Foods is a well-established grocery store chain that prides itself on delivering high-quality products combined with excellent customer service. The company has a strong focus on community engagement and providing a friendly and welcoming shopping experience for all guests. Lowes Foods is recognized for its commitment to quality and operational excellence, particularly within specialized departments like the bakery, where fresh, high-quality baked goods are a staple of the customer offering. As part of its continued growth and dedication to delivering value, Lowes Foods is looking for a skilled Bakery Department Manager to join their team.
The Bakery Department Manager role is key to ensuring the bakery department operates smoothly and meets company standards for guest service, merchandising, and departmental operations. This position involves supervising bakery staff, ensuring quality product offerings, managing inventory, and maintaining operational procedures to enhance guest satisfaction and departmental profitability. The manager assumes responsibility for the department's daily functions and steps in as the acting Department Manager as needed, ensuring leadership continuity.
This full-time role requires a candidate who is not only passionate about bakery operations but also has the leadership skills to train, motivate, and develop team members in delivering polite and friendly guest service. The Bakery Department Manager will manage sales goals, shrink control, inventory levels, and labor scheduling budgets, while ensuring compliance with sanitation and safety standards. Additional responsibilities include product preparation, receiving, ordering, stocking, and delivering guest service to maintain Lowes Foods' high standards.
Candidates for this role should demonstrate capability in multitasking and operating effectively within a retail bakery environment. The ability to communicate effectively with the Store Manager, merchandisers, and staff is critical, as is proficiency with computer applications related to scheduling and inventory. The role also demands physical stamina to perform tasks such as lifting, bending, kneeling, and standing for long periods.
Emphasizing quality, operational excellence, and guest satisfaction, the Bakery Department Manager helps maintain the reputation Lowes Foods has cultivated as a premier grocery destination. This opportunity provides a dynamic environment for someone looking to advance their supervisory skills within the food retail sector. Compensation and benefits align with industry standards and recognize the important contribution bakery managers make to the overall success of the store.
