Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent
- minimum of two years retail grocery experience
- minimum of two years supervisory experience
- ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
- strong communication and interpersonal skills
- physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift weights up to 40 lbs
- food handlers permit or willingness to obtain
- reliable and dependable work ethic
Job Qualifications
- be at least 18 years of age with a minimum of two years retail grocery experience and two years supervisory experience
- be dependable and reliable with the ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
- have an outgoing and friendly behavior with a positive attitude and the ability to interact with customers
- have good communication skills and the ability to give and take direction while participating in a team environment
- be able to answer phones and take special orders
- perform general housekeeping duties including cleaning and sanitizing work areas
- be able to operate knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, garbage disposals, pallet jacks, and hand trucks
- use knowledge of scales and weight measures to accurately weigh and label products
- be able to stand continuously for up to 3 hours and for a total of 8 hours per shift
- be physically capable of transferring trays and items up to required weights and distances without mechanical assistance
- adhere to all safety, health, and weights and measures regulations
- maintain a Food Handlers permit
Job Duties
- assist the Bakery Manager in managing and merchandising the department for maximum productivity and profit
- responsible for ordering and inventory controls, product quality, and supervision of the Bakery team
- execute rotation of merchandise and building of displays
- monitor in-coming cases for damaged items
- ensure the delivery of excellent customer service and monitor the quality of Bakery product
- unload and sort through store deliveries, operate and maintain deli equipment
- ensure the execution of all company health, safety, and sanitation guidelines/regulations, and validate that other Bakery team members are also aware of and following these procedures
