The role of Assistant Baker at Nothing Bundt Cakes is pivotal in ensuring the consistent production of cakes that meet the franchise's high standards of quality. The Assistant Baker works closely with the Baker to follow proprietary recipes and cake production methods meticulously, ensuring that every cake baked delights customers through both taste and presentation. This position requires familiarity with commercial-grade bakery equipment, such as mixers and ovens, and an understanding of proper food safety practices. Assistant Bakers are also responsible for maintaining cleanliness and organization within the baking area, adhering to health and safety guidelines, and complying with company policies.
Working as an Assistant Baker offers a blend of routine and flexibility, with shifts available in the early morning and afternoon hours, and the bakery closed on Sundays to support work-life balance. Job Requirements
- Applicants must be 18 years of age or older
- No formal education required
- Previous experience as a Baker or in another operational support role at a bakery, restaurant, or foodservice environment is a plus
- Flexible availability to work various shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
Job Qualifications
- Able to understand written and oral directions, interpret instructional documents such as recipes, operating procedures, and health and safety rules
- Ability to perform repetitious, physical tasks that require the strength to lift items of moderate to heavyweight (as much as 50 pounds) and stand for extended periods of time
- Able to operate commercial-grade ovens and other bakery equipment and work adjacent to a high-heat source
Job Duties
- Follows NbC proprietary recipes and cake production methods with precision and achieves productivity goals
- Effectively utilizes measuring instruments, commercial-grade mixers and ovens, and other tools to bake cakes
- Adheres to the proper packaging, labeling and storage of baked cakes as well as product rotation standards, and maintains baking and refrigeration logs
- Complies with all health and safety guidelines and NbC policies and procedures, including strict adherence to dress code and personal hygiene
- Maintains a consistent work attendance and punctuality record
