The Assistant Baker role is a part-time or full-time hourly position, offering competitive compensation at $21.50 per hour, with scheduled shifts Monday through Friday from 8am to 2pm. This schedule requires a firm commitment and flexibility for certain periods including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays to meet changing business demands.The Assistant Baker partners directly with the Baker to ensure the consistent creation of cakes that meet the highest standards of quality and taste. This position is central to meeting production demands, adhering strictly to proprietary NbC recipes, specialized cake production methodologies, and stringent food safety standards. The Assistant Baker plays a vital role in the baking process, assisting with the preparation of raw ingredients, operation of commercial baking equipment including ovens and mixers, and careful monitoring of each stage of baking. Precision and attention to detail are paramount to ensure the delicious cakes Nothing Bundt Cakes is known for are produced efficiently and safely.Through this role, the Assistant Baker also contributes to maintaining a clean, sanitary, and organized workspace, ready for subsequent shifts. The role demands a keen understanding of food preparation and safety standards and requires the ability to interpret recipes and instructions accurately, sometimes provided in English or Spanish, underscoring the importance of clear communication and careful execution. Job Qualifications

  • Able to understand written and oral directions

  • able to operate commercial-grade ovens and bakery equipment
  • meticulous about measurements and timing
  • able to evaluate products and processes for compliance with standards
  • disciplined and attentive to health and safety
  • diligent, organized, and self-motivated with ability to work independently
  • previous bakery or foodservice experience preferred
  • bilingual in Spanish preferred but not required

Job Duties

  • Follows NbC proprietary recipes and cake production methods with precision and achieves productivity goals
  • effectively utilizes measuring instruments, commercial-grade mixers and ovens, and other tools to bake cakes
  • assists baker with accurately preparing raw ingredients and equipment for baking places cake pans into a hot oven and monitors the baking process
  • assists baker with daily baking and production flow and processes
  • adheres to the proper packaging, labeling and storage of baked cakes as well as product rotation standards, and maintains baking and refrigeration logs
  • cleans, sanitizes, and restocks workstation and assists baker to ensure all baking supplies are sufficiently prepared for the next shift
  • complies with all health and safety guidelines and NbC policies and procedures, including strict adherence to dress code and personal hygiene
  • maintains a consistent work attendance and punctuality record
