The Assistant Athletics Director for Events, Operations, and Championships is a critical position within the Athletics Department at CSULB. This full-time, temporary role entails overseeing all aspects of athletic events, facility rentals, and campus programming. With a responsibility that spans event planning, scheduling, client relations, and facility management, the assistant director ensures that all activities align with university priorities while enhancing revenue opportunities. This position involves managing the university’s EMS scheduling system, budgeting rental activities, and maintaining facility readiness and infrastructure to support diverse campus functions. The assistant director works independently with a goal of optimizing the use of athletic facilities to maximize operational efficiency and generate additional income through effective client cultivation and event coordination. The role requires a blend of strategic planning, operational management, and customer service expertise. Candidates should be prepared to work evenings and weekends to meet the needs of various events, demonstrating flexibility and a commitment to supporting the university’s mission.

This temporary appointment is set for one year and offers a competitive salary ranging between $5,885 and $8,573 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Job Requirements

  • Equivalent to a bachelor's degree in related field
  • At least four years of related work experience
  • Valid California driver's license
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends
  • Previous supervisory experience
  • Knowledgeable in EMS or equivalent software
  • Ability to manage budgets and event scheduling
  • Comfortable performing heavy work including lifting over 40 pounds
  • Ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field
  • Four years of related experience
  • Previous experience in athletics event or facility operations
  • Knowledge of EMS or equivalent scheduling software

Job Duties
