Job Requirements
- candidate must be U.S. citizen
- must be eligible for and obtain a Secret Clearance within six months of appointment
- one year experience in clerical or retail sales work
- one year experience in law enforcement or investigative related work involving protection of property
- knowledge of loss prevention techniques and policies
- ability to maintain confidentiality and professional conduct
Job Qualifications
- minimum of one year responsible experience in clerical office or retail sales work
- one year experience demonstrating knowledge of general law enforcement methods and investigative work
- ability to perform investigative and auditing duties
- strong attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality
- professional demeanor and communication skills
- understanding of inventory shrinkage factors and loss prevention strategies
Job Duties
- maintains surveillance throughout the Navy Exchange facilities to identify and detect suspicious activity
- detects and detains individuals suspected of shoplifting consistent with NEXCOM Loss Prevention/Safety policies
- prepares case reports, investigative notes, and processes evidence
- conducts audits of cash registers, cash offices, retail inventory controls, and service operations
- conducts investigative research of cash variances and suspicious register transactions using investigative tools
- conducts accident investigations involving associates and customers in accordance with NEXCOM guidelines
- maintains confidentiality of all investigative research and case information
