Job Description

This position as a Culinary Specialist requires an enlistment in the U.S. Army or Army Reserve. Culinary Specialists cook meals and work alongside chefs to prepare meals for Soldiers in field and home station settings. They are responsible for menu planning, food inventory management, ensuring compliance with sanitation and safety standards, and maintaining a safe kitchen environment. Skills acquired include Preparation & Cooking, Stocking & Storage, and Hospitality. Additionally, this role offers the opportunity to earn 19 nationally recognized certifications. Joining the Army at a higher rank with prior experience is possible through the Army Civilian Acquired Skills Program (ACASP), reducing initial training time and providing quicker career advancement opportunities. Job duties include menu planning, food inventory management, and ensuring compliance with sanitation and safety standards.
