Job Requirements

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED with 4 years experience in sales and marketing or related area
  • OR 2-year degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major with 2 years experience in sales and marketing or related area
  • Preferred 4-year bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel and Restaurant Management
  • Proven leadership skills in supervising and managing associates
  • Experience in lodging sales
  • Experience in account management
  • Strong strategic planning and market analysis skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to develop long-term customer relationships and lead sales teams to achieve targets
  • Proficient in utilizing market data and reports to influence sales strategies
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and foster collaboration across departments.

Job Duties

  • Provide leadership and direction to a team of area-based property sales associates to grow account share and drive revenue
  • Set sales targets by associate and property to achieve overall revenue goals within the area
  • Monitor pull-through of segment strategies and partner with General Managers to verify that hotels attain and grow sales/revenue objectives
  • Coordinate with Group Sales teams to execute the sales strategy relating to transactional excellence
  • Develop and manage internal key stakeholder relationships, serving as property sales liaison with all sales channels and related departments
  • Manage and direct the area-based property sales team, ensuring accountability and performance
  • Develop actionable recommendations to optimize performance and drive growth and profitability
  • Partner with Revenue Management to develop business sales strategy plans and pricing processes
  • Monitor local property business outlook, establishing appropriate sales strategies
  • Serve as the primary sales contact for General Managers and property leadership teams
  • Set performance targets focusing hotel sales associates to grow account share and drive revenue
  • Create and implement solutions for properties not performing to expectation
  • Support hotel development efforts, providing input to feasibility studies and marketing plans
  • Partner with Human Resources to attract, develop, and retain talent
  • Champion sales team training and ensure execution against the Total Account Management Process
  • Perform other duties as assigned to meet business needs.
