The role of Area Safety, Health & Environment Manager at Baker Construction is a pivotal position that embodies the company’s culture of safety and continuous improvement. This role is designed for an individual with a steadfast commitment to ensuring workplace safety, who understands the intricacies of construction site risks and can mentor teams to uphold the highest standards of health and environmental safety. The Manager will spend at least 70 percent of their time in the field, directly engaging with project teams to observe practices, identify hazards, and coach workers and safety professionals in real time. This hands-on approach aims not only to correct unsafe behaviors quickly but to foster a proactive safety culture that prevents incidents before they happen.
The Manager will act as a mentor and a resource, providing answers to safety-related questions, sharing lessons learned from past projects, and recognizing positive safety behaviors to reinforce good practices. Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, or EHS from an accredited college or university
- certificate in a related field or construction experience with OSHA 500 training certification
- minimum of 7 years of construction experience or minimum of 5 years of construction safety experience including internship

- Promote the Company’s IIF culture by being a safety resource to the Business Unit Review Group (BURG)
