This job opportunity is for the position of Area Field Manager located in Provo, Utah. The role is designed for self-starters who seek independence, flexibility, and the challenge of managing their own schedules without being confined to an office environment. The Area Field Manager will actively promote the U-Haul brand and play a key role in educating independent business partners and leaders about the benefits and advantages of becoming U-Haul dealers. This includes prospecting, opening, and expanding the dealership network within a designated geographic route. The manager will effectively develop and maintain strong business relationships with small business owners and existing dealerships while providing expert advice and training to help foster growth and profitability.
Part of the role requires overseeing the profitability of the assigned route by managing profit and loss, analyzing transactions, and offering products and services that meet the unique needs of the communities served. A significant aspect of the job involves maintaining and servicing U-Haul equipment and displays to ensure operational excellence and market presence. The Area Field Manager must coordinate with support staff to optimize dealership success and will be responsible for operating and maintaining a fully stocked U-Haul service vehicle for distribution purposes. Minor repairs and maintenance on U-Haul equipment, as well as recovery of lost or stolen assets, are also integral responsibilities.

Job Requirements
- Valid driver’s license and the ability to maintain a good driving record to operate commercial motor vehicles
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be able to obtain a D.O.T. health certificate from a federally registered medical examiner
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Capacity to perform physical tasks including lifting a minimum of 50 lbs.
- Willingness to wear protective clothing or gear as needed
- Compliance with U-Haul’s non-nicotine hiring policy in applicable states
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience working with small businesses or in relationship management
- Ability to train and educate business partners
- Strong analytical and profit and loss management skills
- Competence in equipment maintenance and minor repairs
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Valid driver’s license with a good driving record
Job Duties
- Work with small businesses within your designated route to prospect, open and grow the U-Haul dealership organization
- Develop and manage business relationships with small business owners and U-Haul dealerships to provide professional insight into local markets and the ability to train and educate dealers on areas for potential growth
- Manage your route's profit and loss through careful analysis to effectively grow your route through transactions by providing products and services to the communities you serve
- Service and maintain current U-Haul equipment and displays to ensure operational excellence and marketability
- Work with support staff to ensure the success of U-Haul dealerships within your route with efficiency
- Operate a properly stocked and maintained U-Haul service vehicle that will be used to properly distribute equipment throughout your route
- Perform minor repair and maintenance on U-Haul equipment
- Arrange for the recovery of lost, stolen or abandoned U-Haul equipment
- Participate in ongoing continuous U-Haul education through U-Haul University
