The position of Area Executive Chef for the Lake Washington School District in Seattle, Washington is a pivotal role in Sodexo’s education services. This on-site role requires an energetic, polished culinary professional who will provide culinary leadership and support to multiple schools within the district. The Area Executive Chef will be responsible for menu development, culinary planning, recipe creation, and culinary production oversight, ensuring that meals served meet high-quality standards and adhere to nutritional guidelines. This role demands experience in plate costing and inventory management, as well as expertise in Food Management Systems (FMS) including implementation and training.
As a leader, the Area Executive Chef will train teams on food safety, support staff recruitment and development, and serve as a company representative for presentations related to sales, new programs, and client retention efforts. The candidate must have strong management and communication skills with a proven track record of coaching and engaging culinary teams in multi-site or high-volume environments. Familiarity with school-age meal patterns is preferred to align with the district’s educational and nutritional goals. This role requires occasional travel between schools, making flexibility and adaptability essential.
