Job Requirements

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Ability to follow patient privacy and HIPAA guidelines
Strong communication and customer service skills
Ability to use computerized appointment scheduling systems
Motivated self-starter
Courteous and professional demeanor
Capacity to handle multiple tasks efficiently

Job Qualifications

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
High school diploma or GED preferred
1 year of experience in scheduling, registration and insurance verification preferred
1 year of experience as a medical secretary preferred

Job Duties

Scheduling and rescheduling appointments, creating ad-hoc appointments, check-in and check-out, changing appointment statuses
Registration, updating patient information, quick/trauma admit, discharge and downtime conversion
Utilizing Power Chart for additional information, orders matrix and patient schedule tab
Cross trained to ensure relief for other scheduling positions as assigned
Preparing and completing medical record review including analysis, documentation, and physician order completion
Receiving, assessing and routing telephone calls
