Job Requirements

  • Accredited high school diploma, GED, or Texas Certificate of High School Equivalency
  • Minimum 5 years experience repairing, replacing, and installing appliances including HVAC equipment
  • Clear and valid Texas Driver’s License
  • Insurable by the District’s insurance carrier
  • Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and manuals
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting (50 pounds and over)
  • Ability to work irregular and prolonged hours as required
  • Must be at least 21 years old
  • No positive drug or alcohol tests
  • Clean driving and accident record as per Texas DPS requirements
  • Ability to respond to emergency work requests
  • Willingness to travel to district locations

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma, GED, or Texas Certificate of High School Equivalency
  • Minimum 5 years experience repairing, replacing, and installing appliances including HVAC equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret work orders, service manuals, and wiring diagrams
  • Skill in estimating materials and tracking inventory
  • Knowledge of applicable electrical codes
  • Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written forms
  • Valid Texas Driver’s License
  • EPA Certified Service Technician preferred

Job Duties

  • Service and repair walk-in and reach-in freezers and refrigerators
  • Replace compressors, condensers, evaporators, fan motors, and other electrical components
  • Install, repair, and replace dish machines, ovens, steam tables, warming cabinets, and garbage disposals
  • Assist in installation of convection and steamer ovens and replace electrical components
  • Replace boilers and repair steam jacketed kettles and washing machines
  • Locate and stop gas leaks
  • Maintain inventory of tools and equipment
  • Perform preventive maintenance and safety checks
  • Follow safety procedures including lifting and climbing
  • Correct unsafe conditions or report to supervisor
  • Communicate effectively with co-workers and customers
  • Comply with district policies and complete assigned duties
