Job Requirements
- Physically able to walk and stand throughout the workday
- Ability to engage in repetitive motions involving legs, arms, and hands
- Capable of hearing and seeing to perform job duties

Job Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Experience in animal care or related roles preferred
- Strong interpersonal communication and written skills
- Ability to work with and handle various animals safely
- Knowledge of pet behavior and animal welfare principles
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to follow safety protocols and handle stressful situations
- Valid Nevada or California driver’s license with current registration and insurance
- Passion for animals and commitment to humane treatment
- Ability to support organizational mission and work ethically with staff and volunteers
Job Duties
- Treat all animals humanely with compassion and care
- Perform daily thorough cleaning of animal areas including inside and outside housing, floors, walls, windows, dishes, and bedding
- Conduct spot cleaning of animals and public areas throughout the day
- Provide food and water including special diets as needed
- Provide daily exercise and enrichment for all animals in care
- Bathe and groom animals as necessary
- Assist in maintaining appropriate kennel cards and signage based on animal behavior and medical history
- Conduct daily population wellness checks to monitor animal behavior and health
- Identify and separate animals showing signs of illness, notifying management and following emergency procedures
- Assist clinic department with surgery animals and place them in recovery habitats
- Provide transportation for animals to vet appointments, events, and other shelters or rescue operations
- Help customers on the adoption floor by matching animals to suitable homes
- Support the training and guidance of volunteers
- Manage laundry duties including washing, drying, and folding
- Assist with handling and evacuation of animals during emergencies
