Job Description

LiftHER Career is a mission-driven organization committed to empowering soon-to-be and recent college graduates by equipping them with the essential skills, experience, and professional networks required for long-term success in their careers. As a career launcher focused on equity and access, LiftHER Career addresses critical barriers such as underemployment, lack of experience, and limited social capital that many young professionals face today. Through personalized coaching, meaningful connections, and strategic job placement support, LiftHER not only offers guidance but actively connects participants to a robust network of vetted professionals known as LiftHERs, who provide valuable insights and mentorship. This approach creates a supportive environment for individuals to confidently step into the workforce and build thriving careers.

The Grad2Hire Program by LiftHER Career is an exclusive career readiness and fellowship initiative designed specifically for recent graduates. This program begins with a comprehensive 6-week virtual bootcamp that focuses on building crucial career management skills, enhancing personal branding, and increasing industry awareness and credentials. Following this immersive bootcamp, participants are referred to full-time roles or have the unique opportunity to join a paid fellowship lasting up to six months. The holistic nature of this program encompasses experiential learning and professional networking through activities like a Mock Interview Festival with industry professionals and recruiters, an industry-focused Capstone project with presentations to leaders, one-on-one CareerCafe Chats with LiftHER mentors to expand professional networks, engaging guest speaker sessions offering insider tips, and a supportive community of peers to maintain motivation and accountability.

This year’s cohort has important deadlines, with applications closing on May 1, 2026, and early applicants encouraged to apply for the best chance. Selected participants are notified on a rolling basis starting March 23, 2026. The Career Readiness Bootcamp itself runs from June 1 to July 10, 2026, with all sessions held virtually in the late afternoons and evenings for maximum accessibility.

Choosing a career in Risk Management and Insurance (RMI) is a strategic decision for new graduates. Despite being often overlooked, RMI is one of the most stable, rewarding, and fast-growing industries for entry-level professionals. The sector is currently experiencing a wave of retirements, opening up numerous job opportunities annually for fresh talent. It offers significant job security since risk is an ever-present concern across companies, governments, and communities in need of skilled professionals who can assess and manage these risks. Moreover, the diverse career paths available in RMI—including data analytics, risk modeling, client service, underwriting, and claims management—allow graduates to align their roles with personal interests and strengths. The field also promises competitive starting salaries and clear pathways toward leadership and specialization. Most importantly, professionals in this field contribute meaningful work that supports business recovery, community protection, and smooth economic functioning.

In summary, LiftHER Career's Grad2Hire Program offers a unique blend of skill development, experiential opportunities, and professional network building with a focus on the promising field of risk management and insurance. It is a comprehensive launchpad for recent graduates seeking to enter a stable industry with strong growth potential. The program is remote and currently open to US-based applicants and those seeking employment in the United States, offering flexibility without geographic limits. This temporary internship opportunity combines professional growth, networking, and the chance to earn a paid fellowship, making it an excellent starting point for individuals ready to take control of their career paths in this vital industry.
