The company is currently seeking a part-time Ambulatory Services Housekeeper to join their team at the Lehigh Valley Health Network located at 1200 S Cedar Crest Boulevard, Allentown, PA. This role offers a part-time schedule from Monday to Friday, between 5:00 pm and 11:30 pm, with no weekend or holiday shifts. The position provides a fixed pay rate of $17.25 per hour and requires candidates to have previous housekeeping experience, with the flexibility to float to different positions as needed. As an Ambulatory Services Housekeeper, the individual will perform specialized cleaning duties aimed at disinfecting ambulatory healthcare facilities such as restrooms, patient areas, exam rooms, procedure rooms, and specialty areas. The role emphasizes attention to detail, safety, and the use of appropriate cleaning chemicals and techniques to maintain a healthy and welcoming environment.

In this role, the housekeeper will disinfect surfaces, dust and polish furniture and fixtures, clean reception glass and entrance windows, and move equipment and furniture to ensure thorough cleaning. Responsibilities also include cleaning floors, carpets, and upholstery, collecting and disposing of general and biohazardous waste, replenishing supplies such as soap and paper products, maintaining equipment and storage areas, and working with alarm systems to arm and disarm facility security. The position is crucial in maintaining infection control standards and enhancing the overall patient and staff experience within the healthcare setting.

Job Duties

  • disinfect surfaces with provided chemicals
  • dust and polish furniture and fittings, vents, window sills, and ledges
  • clean reception glass and entrance windows
  • move chairs, stools, waste, linen, biohazardous bins, small equipment on wheels, scales, and other items for proper cleaning
  • realign items according to recommended layout
  • clean floors including sweeping, dusting, mopping, and vacuuming
  • perform carpet spot cleaning and upholstery spot cleaning
  • collect and dispose of general trash and biohazardous waste
  • replenish soap, sanitizer, paper towels, toilet paper, trash bags, and other items
  • maintain equipment, tools and storage areas in clean and orderly operating condition
  • work with alarm systems to arm and disarm
  • perform other duties as assigned
