Job Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED
  • Ability to assist patients with mobility needs safely
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Capability to manage high-volume visitor interactions
  • Ability to work full-time 40 hours per week
  • Commitment to patient safety and customer service
  • Able to handle coordination of logistics for patient transportation and visitor assistance

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma/GED
  • Associate of Arts or Science degree (preferred)
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to assist patients with special needs safely
  • Experience in a healthcare or hospitality setting (preferred)
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams
  • Proficiency in way-finding and transportation coordination

Job Duties

  • Provide a welcome to every patient, family member or visitor in accordance with training provided through Penn Medicine Academy
  • Initiate greeting and positive interaction to all
  • Anticipate and respond to patient, visitor and hospital staff concerns, expectations or needs in a timely manner
  • Assist immobile patients out of/into vehicles and into/out of wheelchairs safely and courteously
  • Manage visitor flow at entrances to assure patients of timely arrival for appointments
  • Support all way-finding, including coordination of outpatient transports
  • Collaborate with patients, visitors and hospital staff to deliver coordinated and seamless service to patients and visitors
  • Work within a safe environment to prevent falls or other accidents
  • Provide other services such as calling for cabs, coordinating para-transit, and assisting patients with hotels, restaurants and public transportation
  • Ensure all outside vendors check in with Security
