The role available at Hotel Valley Ho is a Food and Beverage Assistant position at ZuZu, a fine dining restaurant within the hotel. As a member of the food and beverage service team, this role contributes directly to the success of ZuZu by supporting servers and ensuring guests receive a personable and high-quality dining experience. The ideal candidate will greet guests warmly and assist throughout their dining experience, focusing on upholding the superior standards of fine dining etiquette. Responsibilities include providing water service, bread service, and assisting with the removal and resetting of dishes, as well as maintaining the cleanliness and setup of tables and service stations. Attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to multi-task effectively in a fast-paced environment are essential. Candidates should be comfortable working both indoors and outdoors, able to lift moderate weights, and remain on their feet for prolonged periods.
This position requires familiarity with fine dining service standards, excellent organizational skills, and proficiency with the Micros ordering system. The role also demands a positive attitude, the ability to handle conflict effectively, and a commitment to workplace safety. Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent
- previous experience in food and beverage or customer service preferred
- excellent grooming and adherence to appearance guidelines
- strong communication skills
- ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- ability to work in varying weather conditions
- self-motivated and proactive
- ability to listen, speak and write English clearly
- must be able to handle hot plates and equipment
- flexibility to work various shifts including evenings and weekends
- ability to remain standing for long periods

Job Duties
- greet guests in a warm, friendly and sincere manner
- assist servers in providing guests with a personable fine dining experience
- be familiar with all standards of fine dining service etiquette and adhere to these standards
- attend all scheduled staff meetings, pre-shifts, supplemental training sessions and menu roll outs
- assist servers with general service throughout the guest experience, provide water service offerings after guests have been seated and replenish throughout service
- support the assigned server through the steps of service
- provide bread service
- assist with removal of completed courses from the table, reset as needed or if directed by server
- bus table and area, table maintenance and any additional directives given by assigned server
- set up and stock service stations in kitchen and dining room
- clear and reset dirty tables quickly and quietly after guests depart in accordance to service standards set by restaurant manager
- break down bus trays at dishwashing station and assist dishwashers when needed
- know table and position numbers, and be able to fulfill role as food runner when scheduled
- work together with other server assistants to ensure optimum efficiency
- maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a respectful manner
- perform any other duties as assigned by the restaurant manager and/or assistant manager
