The role of the AM Restaurant Server at Limelight Hotels is pivotal to maintaining the high standard of guest service that the brand is known for. This part-time, morning shift position (6am to 3pm) focuses on delivering food and beverage services in a timely, friendly, and professional manner. The server will operate primarily within a table service restaurant or bar/lounge setting, following established operational standards and procedures. Reporting directly to the Restaurant Manager, the AM Restaurant Server is responsible for ensuring customers have an exceptional dining experience by attending to their needs promptly and courteously.
The server is tasked with a variety of essential duties including setting tables, ensuring menus and condiments are clean and stocked, and providing both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. They must utilize sales techniques to enhance the guest experience by suggesting additional items and upselling menu offerings. This position also requires proficiency in handling transactions through the POS system, ensuring accuracy in order entry and payment processing. The server acts as a vital communication link between the kitchen and guests, delivering food orders efficiently while maintaining cleanliness and orderliness throughout the dining area.
Moreover, as part of their responsibilities, the AM Restaurant Server participates in daily cleaning tasks to uphold the restaurant's hygiene standards and ensures all guest feedback, including concerns and compliments, are promptly conveyed to management. This role demands strong multitasking capabilities, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Physical stamina is necessary due to the requirement to stand, walk, and carry trays during extended periods. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- One year prior guest service experience is preferred
- TIPS Certification preferred
- Ability to work morning shifts from 6am to 3pm
- Ability to stand, walk, and carry trays for extended periods
- Ability to lift, push or pull up to 50 lbs
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Flexibility to work varied shifts
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions in English
Job Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED preferred
- One year prior guest service experience is preferred
- TIPS Certification preferred
- Strong knowledge of food and beverage menus, including ingredients and preparation methods
- Proficient knowledge in computer programs such as Microsoft Office or POS systems preferred
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and professional demeanor

- Strong multitasking skills to handle multiple tables and guest requests efficiently
- Knowledge of proper food handling, sanitation, and safety regulations
- Ability to recommend menu items and upsell food and beverage options

- Strong communication and active listening skills for guest interactions
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Effective problem-solving skills to handle guest concerns and special requests
- Basic math skills for processing payments and handling gratuities accurately

Job Duties
- Ensure that all guests are served in a timely and professional manner
- Ensure tables are set, condiments are stocked and menus are clean and updated
- Stack and polish glassware and silver
- Use sales techniques to suggest additional items and enhance the guest experience
- Provide alcoholic beverage service to guests as well as non-alcoholic and hot beverages
- Operate POS system and handle cash/credit transactions
- Expedite food from kitchen to guest while maintaining cleanliness of serving equipment
- Maintain positive communication with service and kitchen staff
- Make manager aware of guest's comments and complaints
- Participate in daily cleaning operations for the restaurant, which can include checking bathrooms are clean, mopping, sweeping, vacuuming
- Other duties as assigned
