This role is for a Line Cook, a vital member of the kitchen team responsible for preparing all menu items according to established recipes and yield guides. The Line Cook collaborates closely with the Sous Chef or Station Cook I to review daily assignments and anticipate business levels, ensuring smooth kitchen operations. A key part of this role involves starting prep work on items needed for the day’s menu and assisting other Line Cooks throughout the shift. The Line Cook also maintains a well-organized workstation, including setting up and breaking down their station with the necessary tools, equipment, and supplies. Adherence to food safety standards and proper storage procedures as outlined by the Health Department and hotel policies is critical in this role. The Line Cook is expected to uphold food handling guidelines meticulously to provide safe and high-quality meals to guests. The position requires versatility and a willingness to work all stations on the line, including breakfast preparation, such as eggs. Candidates with prior experience working in a hotel, resort, or restaurant setting who demonstrate a high work ethic and self-initiative will thrive in this role. Job Requirements

  • 3 years' experience as a Line Cook at a hotel/resort or restaurant
  • Food handling certification
  • Ability to work all stations on the line
  • Availability to work varying schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • High work ethic and self-initiative

Job Duties

  • Prepare all menu items following recipes and yield guides
  • Meet with Sous Chef/Station Cook I to review assignments, anticipated business levels, changes and other information pertinent to the job performance
  • Start prep work on items needed for the particular menu of the day and assist Line Cooks on same throughout the shift
  • Set up work station with required mis en place, tools, equipment and supplies
  • Breakdown work stations and complete closing duties at the end of last shift of the day
  • Maintain proper storage procedures as specified by Health Department and hotel requirements
  • Follow food handling guidelines
