Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least 1 year of restaurant experience preferred
- Ability to reliably commute or plan to relocate to Anchorage, AK before starting work
- Availability for day and night shifts including weekends and holidays
- Physical ability to perform kitchen tasks and stand for extended periods
- Commitment to maintaining health and safety standards
Job Qualifications
- Previous restaurant or kitchen experience preferred
- Ability to follow detailed recipe cards and standard operating procedures
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Ability to work day and evening shifts, including weekends and holidays
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail
- Basic culinary skills
Job Duties
- Prepare food of consistent quality following recipe cards and production and portion standards
- Start food items that are prepared ahead of time, ensuring not to prepare over estimated needs
- Date all food containers and rotate as per SOP, maintaining proper temperatures for perishables
- Maintain a safe, sanitary work environment following local health regulations
- Check pars for shift use, determine necessary preparation, freezer pull, and line set-up
- Note any out-of-stock items or possible shortages
- Assist in keeping buffet stocked
- Return unused food items to designated storage, covering and dating perishables
- Assist in correcting food cost problems by controlling food waste, loss, and usage
- Assist in prep work of vegetables and condiments for next shift
