The Alterations Customer Service Representative (CSR) plays a pivotal role in the David’s Bridal alterations department, contributing directly to the delivery of superior customer service. Reporting to the Store Manager, this role involves interacting with customers in person, over the phone, or through virtual chats to provide a friendly and professional experience. Alterations CSRs act as the primary liaison between customers and the alterations team, ensuring appointments are scheduled efficiently, garments are pressed and prepared, and alterations are completed to the highest standard. This position demands excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced retail environment.

The CSR is responsible for managing customer flow, welcoming all clients enthusiastically, and handling numerous tasks that uphold the store’s customer service standards. This includes answering calls, resolving conflicts amicably, and promoting alterations and personalization services that enhance the final garment. Practical duties such as pressing, steaming, and spot cleaning merchandise ensure items are presented flawlessly to customers. The role also involves supporting inventory management processes, processing special orders, and maintaining the alterations room’s organization and cleanliness.

Physical demands of the position require the employee to stand or walk for extended periods, reach for tools and objects, and occasionally climb stairs or bend and kneel. Manual dexterity is essential for operating Point of Sale (POS) systems, sewing as needed, and performing garment fittings that meet David's Bridal standards. Educationally, candidates should have at least a high school diploma or equivalent, combined with one to two years of retail experience, preferably in apparel or specialty store environments. Prior sewing experience and familiarity with computerized POS systems are advantageous.

Overall, the Alterations CSR plays a critical role by combining customer service excellence with operational responsibilities. Job Requirements

Job Duties

  • welcome all customers with genuine and friendly enthusiasm over the phone, virtual chats and in person
  • use all systems to manage the customer flow to deliver five-star customer experience
  • meet all service vows including prepare, welcome, meet needs and be there for all customers
  • provide an exceptional service experience to multiple customers at one time and contribute to the store achievement of five-star customer service
  • proactively address customer concerns with confidence and escalate when necessary
  • effectively communicate how alterations can perfect the dress in partnership with alterations
  • promote all alterations services and personalization options
  • maintain store standards including cleanliness, organization, promotional readiness and store recovery
  • maintain high dress code standards as per policy
  • greet and escort all alterations customers to and from alterations appointments
  • press, steam and spot clean all merchandise
  • follow quality control guidelines and inspect all garments altered, steamed or pressed to verify pristine condition
  • build long-term customer relationships to exceed satisfaction and loyalty
  • support inventory management by processing special orders, pickups and first quality standards
  • support cash wrap behaviors and process transactions accurately
  • seek assistance from the Alterations Manager to resolve customer issues
  • maintain a clean and well-organized alterations room
  • perform duties as assigned by store management
