Job Description

The property seeking to fill the Assistant General Manager role is part of a dual branded hotel location comprising the Aloft El Segundo/LAX and the Fairfield by Marriott El Segundo/LAX. This dynamic hospitality company offers guests a stylish and welcoming environment, blending contemporary design with convenience near major corporate offices such as Mattel, Raytheon, and Northrop Grumman. Located less than a mile from Los Angeles International Airport, the hotels provide complimentary 24-hour shuttle service, ensuring seamless travel experiences for guests. The hotels cater to a wide array of travelers, featuring amenities like the W XYZ Bar for socializing, re:fuel by Aloft for quick snacks, and re:mix lounge for entertainment, alongside rooms equipped with the ultra-comfortable signature bed and Bliss Spa amenities. This combination of modern comfort and excellent location makes the property a popular choice for business and leisure travelers alike.

The Assistant General Manager role is an exciting leadership opportunity ideal for an individual passionate about hospitality management and guest satisfaction. This position is crucial for maintaining smooth hotel operations, especially in the absence of the General Manager. As the Assistant General Manager, you will oversee multiple hotel departments, working closely with the General Manager to boost revenue while keeping operational costs within budget. This role demands a leader who excels in problem-solving, communication, and team development, and who values creating memorable guest experiences. You will play an integral role in recruiting, hiring, and coaching guest services staff, as well as implementing ongoing training and development programs to foster professional growth among all team members from managers to hourly employees.

The ideal candidate is a confident leader with at least five years of hotel experience or equivalent educational qualifications and experience, able to remain calm and objective under pressure. Proficiency with Windows Operating Systems is essential for management and reporting tasks. In addition to operational expertise, the Assistant General Manager embodies hospitality excellence, setting standards for professional grooming and ensuring all team members adhere to company guidelines. This role is not just about managing a hotel; it is about cultivating an environment where both guests and staff feel valued and energized to deliver outstanding service. After an initial waiting period, those employed full-time are eligible for a competitive benefits package that includes daily pay options, medical, dental, and vision insurance, various income protection plans, paid time off, an employee assistance program, and a 401k retirement plan.

This is a full-time role based in a vibrant, guest-centric environment where leadership meets opportunity. If you are ready to take your hospitality career to the next level and thrive in a challenging yet rewarding setting, this role offers the platform to make a significant impact both on the property and within the broader hotel group.
